This artwork by Martín Chirino achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Madrid in October 2008. In the Spanish Art at the Westin Palace Hotel auction, the work Lady Lazarus. Homenaje A Silvia Plath sold for EUR 157,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 80,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Martín Chirino; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot El Viento sold at auction in June 2021 with the realized price of EUR 226,800.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Martín Chirino erzielte im Oktober 2008 bei Christies in Madrid einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Spanish Art at the Westin Palace Hotel wurde die Arbeit Lady Lazarus. Homenaje A Silvia Plath für EUR 157.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 80.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Martín Chirino; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit El Viento im Juni 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 226.800,00.
