Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work End of History Victory Party by Mark Tansey. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,255,000.00 (€ 2,953,988.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mark Tansey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Source Of The Loue, which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 7,453,600.00 (€ 6,386,975.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit End of History Victory Party von Mark Tansey zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000.000,00 – 5.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.255.000,00 (€ 2.953.988,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Mark Tansey mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Source Of The Loue beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für USD 7.453.600,00 (€ 6.386.975,15) versteigert wurde.
