Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included this untitled work by Mark Lancaster. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,461.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mark Lancaster - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in October 2007 for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 7,539.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Mark Lancaster zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.461,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Mark Lancaster mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für GBP 5.250,00 (€ 7.539,35) versteigert wurde.
