Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of The Artist'S Sister Sophie by Mark Gertler was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 11,997.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Gertler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Violinist in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 542,500.00 (€ 764,918.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of The Artist'S Sister Sophie von Mark Gertler kam im März 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 11.997,80) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Gertler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Violinist im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 542.500,00 (€ 764.918,19).
