This artwork by Mark Gertler achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in June 2021. In the Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale auction, the work Study for The Violinist sold for GBP 94,500.00 (€ 110,117.07) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mark Gertler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Violinist in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 542,500.00 (€ 764,918.19).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Mark Gertler erzielte im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Study for The Violinist für GBP 94.500,00 (€ 110.117,07) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mark Gertler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Violinist im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 542.500,00 (€ 764.918,19).
