Auction result well in line with expectations
In June last year Sothebys in London held the auction Modern British Day Auction, which included the work Portrait of the Artist's Brother by Mark Gertler. The price achieved of GBP 35,280.00 (€ 40,985.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Gertler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Violinist in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 542,500.00 (€ 764,918.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern British Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of the Artist's Brother von Mark Gertler zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 35.280,00 (€ 40.985,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Gertler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Violinist im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 542.500,00 (€ 764.918,19).
