This artwork by Mark Gertler achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October last year. In the Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale auction, the work Portrait Of Jean Kemp sold for GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,018.29) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Gertler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Violinist in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 542,500.00 (€ 764,918.19).

In der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of Jean Kemp für GBP 18.900,00 (€ 22.018,29) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Gertler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Violinist im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 542.500,00 (€ 764.918,19).
