Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Section No. 2 by Mark Francis was auctioned at Phillips in London in April last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,780.00 (€ 4,507.52). Admittedly, works by Mark Francis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Symbiosis (Mesh) in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 32,450.00 (€ 41,228.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Section No. 2 von Mark Francis im April letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.780,00 (€ 4.507,52) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mark Francis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Symbiosis (Mesh) im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.450,00 (€ 41.228,09).
