In June last year Artcurial in Paris held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Vital - 1995 by Mark Francis. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 11,152.00 39% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mark Francis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Symbiosis (Mesh), which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 32,450.00 (€ 41,228.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 39 % übertroffen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vital - 1995 von Mark Francis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 11.152,00 und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Mark Francis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Symbiosis (Mesh) beobachtet, die im Juli 2008 für GBP 32.450,00 (€ 41.228,09) versteigert wurde.
