Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Locator by Mark Francis was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Online auction at Bonhams in February this year. The price achieved of USD 12,750.00 (€ 12,026.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mark Francis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Symbiosis (Mesh), which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 32,450.00 (€ 41,228.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Locator von Mark Francis wurde im Februar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Online bei Bonhams versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.750,00 (€ 12.026,03) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Mark Francis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Symbiosis (Mesh) beobachtet, die im Juli 2008 für GBP 32.450,00 (€ 41.228,09) versteigert wurde.
