Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work FSA Client Borrower, Greene County, GA, rural rehabilitation client, 1939 by Marion Post Wolcott. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,602.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marion Post Wolcott - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vegetable pickers, migrants, waiting after work to be paid, near Homestead, Florida, Feb 1939, which sold at auction in October 2021 for USD 21,420.00 (€ 18,542.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit FSA Client Borrower, Greene County, GA, rural rehabilitation client, 1939 von Marion Post Wolcott zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.602,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Marion Post Wolcott mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vegetable pickers, migrants, waiting after work to be paid, near Homestead, Florida, Feb 1939 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2021 für USD 21.420,00 (€ 18.542,24) versteigert wurde.
