Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Mario Merz was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in March 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 41,115.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mario Merz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Piccolo caimano in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,346,297.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Mario Merz wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 41.115,98) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mario Merz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Piccolo caimano im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 962.500,00 (€ 1.346.297,09).
