A top price for Mario Merz
In October 2015 Christies in London held the auction The Italian Sale, which included the work Piccolo caimano by Mario Merz. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,346,297.09), 20% above the upper estimate. With this result, Piccolo caimano is even the most expensive work of art by Mario Merz that we have observed at auctions so far.
