This artwork by Mario Merz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March this year. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work without title sold for GBP 23,940.00 (€ 27,236.37) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mario Merz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Piccolo caimano in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,346,297.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mario Merz erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 23.940,00 (€ 27.236,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mario Merz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Piccolo caimano im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 962.500,00 (€ 1.346.297,09).
