Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Untitled (Flowering Cordylines) by Marian Ellis Rowan. The price achieved of AUD 7,380.00 (€ 6,176.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by Marian Ellis Rowan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Decorated Screen with Wildflowers, c.1880 in November 2021 with an auction result of AUD 59,040.00 (€ 52,307.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Flowering Cordylines) von Marian Ellis Rowan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 7.380,00 (€ 6.176,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marian Ellis Rowan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Decorated Screen with Wildflowers, c.1880 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 59.040,00 (€ 52.307,96).
