Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ginger Plant by Marian Ellis Rowan was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in May 2005. The price achieved of AUD 3,346.00 (€ 2,056.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marian Ellis Rowan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Decorated Screen with Wildflowers, c.1880 in November 2021 with an auction result of AUD 59,040.00 (€ 52,307.96).
