In the 20th C. & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction, the work Competition III sold for USD 704,000.00 (€ 638,896.45) - well above the upper estimate of USD 350,000.00. This high result makes Competition III the most expensive artwork by Maria Lassnig that we have observed at auctions so far.
