Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Sothebys in Milan held the auction Contemporary Art | Milan, which included the work Diario N. 3. by Maria Lai. It changed hands for a price of EUR 37,800.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Maria Lai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lenzuolo (Bed Sheet) in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 150,000.00 (€ 169,153.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Sothebys in Mailand die Auktion Contemporary Art | Milan durch, in der auch die Arbeit Diario N. 3. von Maria Lai zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 37.800,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Maria Lai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lenzuolo (Bed Sheet) im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 150.000,00 (€ 169.153,72).
