In July 2017 Christies in New York held the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Pala by Margaret Wharton. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,585.49), 56% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Pala the most expensive artwork by Margaret Wharton that we have observed at auctions so far.
