Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Margaret Wharton could be acquired at Christies in New York in February 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Interiors auction, the work Pala changed hands for USD 500.00 (€ 446.55) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Margaret Wharton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pala, which sold at auction in July 2017 for USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,585.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Margaret Wharton konnte im Februar 2015 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Interiors wechselte die Arbeit Pala für USD 500,00 (€ 446,55) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Margaret Wharton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pala beobachtet, die im Juli 2017 für USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.585,49) versteigert wurde.
