Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Three works: (i) N. S. De Los Angustias; (ii) Jesus Nazarenus Rex Judaerum; (iii) Adios by Manuel Ocampo was auctioned at Phillips in London in March 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,454.68). Admittedly, works by Manuel Ocampo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Los Comicos Ambulantes in December last year with an auction result of USD 32,760.00 (€ 30,622.55).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Three works: (i) N. S. De Los Angustias; (ii) Jesus Nazarenus Rex Judaerum; (iii) Adios von Manuel Ocampo im März 2008 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.454,68) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Manuel Ocampo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Los Comicos Ambulantes im Dezember letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.760,00 (€ 30.622,55).
