This artwork by Manu Parekh achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2007. In the The Indian Sale auction, the work Benaras sold for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,414.70) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Manu Parekh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work He And She in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 49,000.00 (€ 31,002.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Manu Parekh erzielte im Mai 2007 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Indian Sale wurde die Arbeit Benaras für GBP 3.000,00 (€ 4.414,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Manu Parekh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit He And She im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 49.000,00 (€ 31.002,85).
