Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Manu Parekh could be acquired at Christies in New York in September last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 3,200.00 (€ 3,270.98) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Manu Parekh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work He And She in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 49,000.00 (€ 31,002.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Manu Parekh konnte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 3.200,00 (€ 3.270,98) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Manu Parekh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit He And She im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 49.000,00 (€ 31.002,85).
