Sold at the upper estimate price
In May 2007 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Modern Chinese Paintings, which included the work Calligraphy Couplet in Stone Drum Script by Ma Gongyu. The auction ended at the price of HKD 12,000.00 (€ 1,142.64), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 10,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ma Gongyu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy Couplet In Lishu in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 275,000.00 (€ 30,267.00).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Modern Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet in Stone Drum Script von Ma Gongyu zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 12.000,00 (€ 1.142,64) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 10.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ma Gongyu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Lishu im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 275.000,00 (€ 30.267,00).
