This artwork by Ma Gongyu achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in April this year. In the Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Couplet In Running Script sold for HKD 21,600.00 (€ 22,057.83) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ma Gongyu; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy Couplet In Lishu sold at auction in October 2017 with the realized price of HKD 275,000.00 (€ 30,267.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ma Gongyu erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei China Guardian in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Couplet In Running Script für HKD 21.600,00 (€ 22.057,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 12.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ma Gongyu; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Lishu im Oktober 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 275.000,00 (€ 30.267,00).
