Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Superfície Modulada No. 6 by Lygia Clark was sold in the LATIN AMERICAN ART auction at Christies in New York in May 2003. It changed hands for a price of USD 59,750.00 (€ 50,781.91) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 50,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lygia Clark achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Contra Relevo (Objeto N. 7) in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 2,225,000.00 (€ 1,713,119.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Superfície Modulada No. 6 von Lygia Clark wurde im Mai 2003 in der Auktion LATIN AMERICAN ART bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 59.750,00 (€ 50.781,91) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lygia Clark erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Contra Relevo (Objeto N. 7) im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.225.000,00 (€ 1.713.119,80).
