Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Casulo (Cocoon) No 2 by Lygia Clark was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2013. It achieved a price of USD 437,000.00 (€ 321,181.83), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Admittedly, works by Lygia Clark have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Contra Relevo (Objeto N. 7) in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 2,225,000.00 (€ 1,713,119.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Casulo (Cocoon) No 2 von Lygia Clark kam im November 2013 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 437.000,00 (€ 321.181,83) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lygia Clark auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Contra Relevo (Objeto N. 7) im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.225.000,00 (€ 1.713.119,80).
