This artwork by Lygia Clark achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2010. In the Latin American Art auction, the work Animal (Bicho) sold for USD 74,500.00 (€ 60,231.22) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lygia Clark achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Contra Relevo (Objeto N. 7) in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 2,225,000.00 (€ 1,713,119.80).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Lygia Clark erzielte im Mai 2010 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Latin American Art wurde die Arbeit Animal (Bicho) für USD 74.500,00 (€ 60.231,22) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lygia Clark erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Contra Relevo (Objeto N. 7) im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.225.000,00 (€ 1.713.119,80).
