Sold at the lower estimate price
The work The cemetery at Caccamo in the province of Karamania, Turkey by Luigi Mayer was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2008. The result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,360.22) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luigi Mayer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of the port and the city of Constantinople, from Leander's Tower in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 73,250.00 (€ 89,078.82).
