This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Luigi Mayer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of the port and the city of Constantinople, from Leander's Tower in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 73,250.00 (€ 89,078.82).

Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Luigi Mayer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View of the port and the city of Constantinople, from Leander's Tower im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 73.250,00 (€ 89.078,82).
