Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The beach at Scheveningen, with fisherfolk displaying their catch by Ludolf de Jongh was sold in the Old Master Pictures auction at Christies in London in July 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,110.00 (€ 9,879.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ludolf de Jongh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a boy, full-length, in a gold-embroidered grey costume with a feathered hat and a cane, his hand on the head of a lurcher, with a garden seen through the door behind in December 2008 with an auction result of GBP 97,250.00 (€ 102,140.80).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a boy, full-length, in a gold-embroidered grey costume with a feathered hat and a cane, his hand on the head of a lurcher, with a garden seen through the door behind im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 97.250,00 (€ 102.140,80).
