Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March last year Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included this untitled work by Lucien Smith. Here, the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 7,560.00 (€ 6,815.11). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucien Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hobbes, The Rain Man, and My Friend Barney / Under the Sycamore Tree in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 389,000.00 (€ 285,903.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Lucien Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 7.560,00 (€ 6.815,11) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucien Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hobbes, The Rain Man, and My Friend Barney / Under the Sycamore Tree im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 389.000,00 (€ 285.903,28).
