Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Naming the Money: Kwesi, 2004/2021, from Tate Modern 21 Years Print Portfolio by Lubaina Himid. The price achieved of GBP 1,270.00 (€ 1,478.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lubaina Himid - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in July 2020 for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,298.26).
