It achieved a price of GBP 1,657.50 (€ 1,920.66), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 38%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lovis Corinth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Walchensee, Aufgehender Mond (Walchensee, Rising Moon) in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 881,250.00 (€ 1,071,682.02).

Die Arbeit One Plate, from Der Walchensee von Lovis Corinth wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion ExpressionismGermany, Austria and Beyond bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.657,50 (€ 1.920,66) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 38%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lovis Corinth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Walchensee, Aufgehender Mond (Walchensee, Rising Moon) im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 881.250,00 (€ 1.071.682,02).
