A top price for Lovis Corinth - as previously expected
The work Walchensee, Aufgehender Mond (Walchensee, Rising Moon) by Lovis Corinth was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 881,250.00 (€ 1,071,682.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Walchensee, Aufgehender Mond (Walchensee, Rising Moon) is the most expensive artwork by Lovis Corinth that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Walchensee, Aufgehender Mond (Walchensee, Rising Moon) von Lovis Corinth kam im Juni 2010 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 881.250,00 (€ 1.071.682,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Walchensee, Aufgehender Mond (Walchensee, Rising Moon) das teuerste Kunstwerk von Lovis Corinth, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
