Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Lecture, 1924, Femme au Livre, 1924, Positioned together, Tous les Deux, ensemble, New York by Louise Lawler was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 119,700.00 (€ 111,545.99) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louise Lawler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Monogram, which sold at auction in May 2012 for USD 542,500.00 (€ 438,773.86).
