Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Prints & Multiples: Part I, which included the work Sainte Sébastienne (MoMA 504.2) by Louise Bourgeois. The price achieved of USD 18,900.00 (€ 16,360.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louise Bourgeois achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spider in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 32,055,000.00 (€ 28,751,457.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Prints & Multiples: Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sainte Sébastienne (MoMA 504.2) von Louise Bourgeois zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 18.900,00 (€ 16.360,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louise Bourgeois erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Spider im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.055.000,00 (€ 28.751.457,53).
