A top price for Louise Bourgeois - as previously expected
The work Spider by Louise Bourgeois was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in May 2019. The price achieved of USD 32,055,000.00 (€ 28,751,457.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000,000.00 – 35,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Spider is the most expensive artwork by Louise Bourgeois that we have observed at auctions so far.
