The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,625.00 (€ 11,665.54), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis-Gabriel-Eugène Isabey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bateaux échoués (Honfleur, Low Tide) in October 2004 with an auction result of USD 153,100.00 (€ 120,116.11).

Die Arbeit A bridge with travellers crossing a torrent in the Pyrenees von Louis-Gabriel-Eugène Isabey wurde im Juli 2019 in der Auktion British & European Art: European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 11.665,54) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis-Gabriel-Eugène Isabey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bateaux échoués (Honfleur, Low Tide) im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 153.100,00 (€ 120.116,11).
