A top price for Louis de Clercq - as previously expected
In April 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Quillan Collection of Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Photographs, which included the work 'Djebaïl. Soubassements Phéniciens' by Louis de Clercq. The price achieved of USD 31,000.00 (€ 19,912.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, 'Djebaïl. Soubassements Phéniciens' is the most expensive artwork by Louis de Clercq that we have observed at auctions so far.
