Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work 'Kalatt-El-Athlit, Côté De La Terre' by Louis de Clercq for USD 14,400.00 (€ 10,541.73). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs from the Private Collection of Margaret W. Weston at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Louis de Clercq have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2008 by the work 'Djebaïl. Soubassements Phéniciens' at USD 31,000.00 (€ 19,912.64).
