A top price for Lothar Baumgarten
This artwork by Lothar Baumgarten achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April 2006. In the Photographs auction, the work Selected Images, 1968-1972 sold for USD 26,400.00 (€ 20,912.55) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. This high result makes Selected Images, 1968-1972 the most expensive artwork by Lothar Baumgarten that we have observed at auctions so far.
