Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Xiao Lin and Ann by Liu Xiaodong. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 600,000.00 – 900,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 625,000.00 (€ 68,477.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Xiaodong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Disobeying The Rules in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 66,200,000.00 (€ 6,815,482.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Xiao Lin and Ann von Liu Xiaodong zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 600.000,00 – 900.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 625.000,00 (€ 68.477,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Xiaodong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Disobeying The Rules im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 66.200.000,00 (€ 6.815.482,84).
