Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 98 Diary: Sinking by Liu Hongwei was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008. The price achieved of HKD 247,500.00 (€ 20,375.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Hongwei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Piggy Toy, which sold at auction in May 2011 for HKD 860,000.00 (€ 76,931.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 98 Diary: Sinking von Liu Hongwei kam im Mai 2008 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 247.500,00 (€ 20.375,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Hongwei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Piggy Toy beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für HKD 860.000,00 (€ 76.931,00) versteigert wurde.
