Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Face No. 13 by Li Yongbin was sold in the The Ullens Collection - Experimentation and Evolution auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 125,000.00 (€ 11,543.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Yongbin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Face, which sold at auction in May 2007 for EUR 38,400.00.
