Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Mountains in Morning Mist by Li Huayi. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 3,500,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 3,780,000.00 (€ 452,978.13). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Huayi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Forever Young, which sold at auction in April last year for HKD 12,475,000.00 (€ 1,508,318.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mountains in Morning Mist von Li Huayi zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 3.500.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 3.780.000,00 (€ 452.978,13) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Huayi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Forever Young beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für HKD 12.475.000,00 (€ 1.508.318,31) versteigert wurde.
