Upper estimate price exceeded by 25 %.
In December 2021 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 21st Century Art Day Sale, which included the work Ink ~ Play by Li Chen. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 141,588.62), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Li Chen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dragon-Riding Buddha (Executed In 2001) in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 17,975,000.00 (€ 1,924,505.40).
