In October 2016 POLY in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese and Asian Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Golden Rain by Li Chen. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 4,248,000.00 (€ 499,901.48), 70% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Li Chen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dragon-Riding Buddha (Executed In 2001), which sold at auction in April 2021 for HKD 17,975,000.00 (€ 1,924,505.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2016 führte POLY in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese and Asian Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Golden Rain von Li Chen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 4.248.000,00 (€ 499.901,48) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Li Chen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dragon-Riding Buddha (Executed In 2001) beobachtet, die im April 2021 für HKD 17.975.000,00 (€ 1.924.505,40) versteigert wurde.
