This artwork by Leonor Fini achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May last year. In the Modern Day Auction auction, the work Portrait de María Félix I or Reina del fuego sold for USD 352,800.00 (€ 328,767.12) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Leonor Fini have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Autoportrait Au Scorpion in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 2,319,000.00 (€ 1,901,754.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Leonor Fini erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Portrait de María Félix I or Reina del fuego für USD 352.800,00 (€ 328.767,12) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leonor Fini auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Autoportrait Au Scorpion im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.319.000,00 (€ 1.901.754,96).
