Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. being greeted in an open car, Maryland by Leonard Freed was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October 2020. The price achieved of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,434.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leonard Freed - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Selected images from Police Work, which sold at auction in October 2016 for USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,262.73).

Die Arbeit The Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. being greeted in an open car, Maryland von Leonard Freed kam im Oktober 2020 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.434,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Leonard Freed mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Selected images from Police Work beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für USD 11.250,00 (€ 10.262,73) versteigert wurde.
